COVID Travel Update

Mammoth Lakes is operating in the Red Tier.

We want your trip to be as enjoyable as possible. Due to COVID restrictions, amenities and service offerings are limited. This list will give you a brief overview of how to prepare.

What does Red Tier mean for my trip to Mammoth Lakes?

  • Purchasing Mammoth Mountain lift tickets in advance is required. We recommend purchasing before you book lodging.
  • Retail, dining and all services are open with limited capacity. We recommend purchasing groceries and items you may need at home before beginning your drive. Bishop and Mammoth Lakes have limited capacity, resulting in long lines.

How do COVID restrictions affect my stay with 1849 Mountain Rentals?

  • The State requires new check-in and check-out procedures. These safety protocols are very different and may seem strange and out of place. Please review them below.
  • Recreation amenities (pool, spas, sauna) are closed.
  • Utilize our touchless onsite ski and snowboard rentals by Black Tie Skis Rentals
  • 1849 Mountain Rentals is a Certified COVID Clean Business. Read more below.

COVID-19 POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Clean and Care Commitment

Please review updates on policy and protocols made as a result of COVID pandemic. *Masks are must be worn inside and in outside spaces. Thank you for helping us stay safe to stay open!

 Key practices we are doing for you and our staff:

  • Staff COVID-19 prevention training, frequent handwashing, and use of masks and gloves
  • Disinfection of high traffic, high touch areas throughout the day
  • Disinfection of condos
  • Using COVID-19-approved cleaning chemicals
  • Bedding and towels are washed at a commercial laundry facility that adheres to CDC Cleaning Guidelines
  • Touchless protocols are used to package toiletries and place them in condos
  • Touchless check-in and check-out procedures
  • Sleeper sofas and extra bedding are not available at this time
  • Keys are disinfected after every use

New Check-In, During Your Stay, Check-Out Procedures (per State of CA)

To ensure your safety during your stay, California COVID-19 clean protocols are integrated into our existing best-in-class cleanliness standards. A few items require cooperation from our valued guest and may feel out of place at first, but if we know anything about Mammoth Lakes’ loyalists, it’s that we can adapt to whatever Mother Nature sends our way.

Check-In 4 p.m.

  • Please check-in and check-out 1849 Mountain Rentals Office, 826 Lakeview Boulevard, Mammoth Lakes, CA. 93546
  • Please wear a mask in all public spaces
  • Touchless check-in procedures are in place

During Your Stay

(Please note: sleeper sofas and additional bedding are not available)

  • Maintenance and housekeeping staff are not allowed in the unit during your stay. Touchless procedures are in place, where possible. 
  • As an additional safety precaution, rinse clean dishes and kitchen items with hot water before use. 
  • Wash all dishwasher-safe dishes, silverware, and cookware in the dishwasher. 1849 housekeeping will disinfect items needing to be hand-washed after the stay. 
  • If you use any item from a cabinet or shelf, leave this item out for the duration of your stay. 1849 housekeeping will disinfect after check-out.

Check-Out Checklist 10 a.m.

(Late checkouts will not be permitted due to restrictions. Charges apply.) Please complete the following to avoid additional cleaning fees.

  1. Please bag all used and unused linens, towels, and bathmats and place them in the provided laundry bag (please leave pillows and comforters on the bed)
  2. Close and lock all windows and doors
  3. Turn off all heaters and lights
  4. Take out all used and unused personal items and trash (including foods, condiments, soaps, shampoos, conditioner) to the commercial dumpsters. Be sure to re-lock the units to keep animals out.
  5. Load and start the dishwasher.  

Drop keys in the dropbox at 1849 Mountain Rentals Office, 826 Lakeview Boulevard, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546. If dropping off keys before office hours, please call (760) 934-7525 and leave your unit number, name, the exact time you departed, and any maintenance issues. 

Stress-Free Booking

We are pleased to offer “stress-free” booking. If you are within the 14-day cancellation period and Mammoth Mountain closes due to COVID restrictions or the state government restricts leisure travel, we will issue you a credit which may be used before a specified time.

If the Mountain Closes or Travel is Restricted Due to COVID, Do I Need To Do Anything?

If the mountain closes or travel is restricted due to COVID and your arrival date is within the 14-day cancellation period, you do not need to contact us. We will automatically create a credit for you and email you the details within 7-days of the announced closure.

If you are outside of the 14-day cancellation period, you may cancel your reservation minus a 10% processing fee. To do so, please email info@1849MountainRentals and we will respond within 72 hours with a cancellation email. Please include your full name on reservation, reservation number, arrival date and unit number. 

New Payment & Cancellation Policy

As a courtesy to our valued guests, we have temporarily eliminated the 50% deposit charged at the time of booking and reduced the advance final charge from 30 days to the terms listed below. 

Payment Policy for reservations 11/1/20-12/15/21

One night rental will be collected at the time of booking. 14 days prior to arrival, your reservation will be charged in full. If you cancel prior to 14 days prior to your arrival, the one-night rental will be returned minus a 10% processing fee. Once charged in full, reservations are non-refundable due to cancellation or early departure. If reservations are made within 14 days of arrival, the reservation will be charged in full and is non-refundable due to cancellation or early departure. It is highly recommended to purchase travel insurance when making your reservation.

All guests are required to have a major credit card on file for charges, damages, and incidentals. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Taxes and fees are subject to change. 

Amenity Closure & Reductions in Service

Recreation areas, sleeper sofas, and extra bedding are temporarily not available. Housekeeping and maintenance during your stay is also not available.

If you begin to feel sick during your stay, please take immediate action by contacting the Nurse Hotline at 211. We really appreciate your cooperation.
