In the meantime, find the best music events in Mammoth’s majestic mountains. This list of nine music festivals in Mammoth Lakes includes the 2019 dates, so if you’re wondering about dates beyond that year, they will typically be over the same weekend near that time frame.
Mammoth Jazzfest – Friday, June 21-22nd
Mammoth jazzfest is at the Mammoth Village, address 6201 Minaret Road. The event has food, games, and a charity wine walk supporting local music education.
Jazzfest is a free event. No tickets are required and all ages are welcome. Come see the wide array of jazz styles, from the epic sounds of Latin jazz to the melting-pot mixes of jazz fusion.
4th Annual Music and Moonshine – Saturday, June 22nd
Right near our Mammoth condo rentals is this bombastic and energetic live music event. The event is at the Hayden Cabin at 5489 Sherwin Creek Road. Hear the sounds of the rambunctious Andrew Webber Blues Band over barbeque and assorted desserts. Chase it down with local brews and moonshine.
Outside the cabin will be various kid’s games in an open play area. Guests are welcome to bring chairs and blankets to hang out around the cabin. It’s an event for all, and 100% of proceeds will go to local Mammoth arts and culture.
The Village Summer Jam – Friday, June 28th-29th
The village will host the quintessential music event for the summer season: Summer Jam on Minaret Road!
The event starts at 10 a.m. each day and continues on to 10 p.m., with music from Jelly Bread, Mestizo Beat, and a variety of blues, funk, jazz, and rock musicians.
Reggae Fest – July 19-20
The Plaza, at the local village, again plays host to the bold Reggae Fest. This fantastically-fun event is a showcase for all things reggae, from a variety of local masters. The event is kid-friendly and will offer plenty of snacks.
Mammoth Villagefest – Friday, July 26-28
Villagefest is a blast of food, music, games, contests, bounce houses, and much more. The event collects all the fun and excitement possible for one varied family-friendly gathering. Guests can come for the popular barbeque contest, where experts combine barbeque sauce and their favorite assorted meat and non-meat meals for some of the best smoky food in the state. There’s an outside bar, a VIP event, and music of all genres for the event.
Lastly, it’s free to attend and no tickets are required.
Blueusapalooza – Thursday, August 1-4
Take a skip on over from our Mammoth mountain lodging for Mammoth’s busiest and bluesiest summertime week, Blueusapalooza. This event is possibly the most popular music event for the famous sky village. You can expect to find local microbreweries, photo booths, gorgeous scenery in the mountains, and all the blues from seasoned masters Buddy Guy, Emily Wolfe, Trombone Shorty, and about 20 more acts.
Mammoth Rocks – August 23-24
Which decade of music is the best out of the ’70s, ’80s, or ’90s?
Finally decide on a victor at Mammoth Rocks, the region’s biggest tribute music festival. See upwards of 100 different acclaimed tribute bands cover classics from all three decades, alongside food trucks and tents, brews, and more. The event is morning to night both days.
Rock and Rye Whiskey Tasting Festival – August 30- Sept 1
This Irish-focused free event is a showcase for all things from the Emerald Isle. At least 30 different regional breweries are expected to participate in the year’s event. Come for authentic Irish music from the Young Dubliners and a variety of other acts, like Spaghetti Western and High West Shootout.
While attending the event is free, tickets for special events, like the all-weekend rye tasting, are available in limited quantities.
Oktoberfest – Sept 20-21
From noon to whenever the crowd settles down comes Oktoberfest. Leading in October proper is this brew-filled event, featuring Bavarian influences of all kinds. Expect games, authentic German cuisine, classic outfits and costumes, and more.
