Skiing and Snowboarding Lessons at Mammoth Mountain

If an activity exists in Mammoth Lakes, there is a lesson for it. Skiing and snowboarding are two of the top activities that attract guests to Mammoth Lakes, but you don’t have to be an experienced to hit the slopes. Skiing and snowboarding lessons can introduce you to these fun winter activities. Lessons are fun, and they are worth every penny. From group lessons to private family lessons, individual sessions and adaptive lessons, there is something for everyone. Both half-day and full-day lessons are available, and you can find options for all experience levels.

Who Should Take Skiing and Snowboarding Lessons?

New & Improving

Sure, you can rent all of your gear and head out onto the beginner slopes, but lessons will help you develop the skills you need to succeed and stay safe. Safety is of the utmost importance, and lessons will give you the opportunity to learn foundational skills from a professional. For folks still enjoying green and blue runs, lessons are a great way to continue to build skills, gain confidence, and get the most out of your trip.

It’s Been Awhile

If it’s been a while since your last ski trip, it may be worthwhile to invest in a lesson to help you get your groove back. Even if you’re an experienced skier and snowboarder, lessons can help you progress and move on to more difficult slopes.

Advanced – Expert Skiers

Advanced to expert skiers and snowboarders will find clinics hosted by professional athletes that will push skill limits.

Adaptive Lessons

The mountains are accessible to all. Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra offers adaptive lessons for skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and biathlon. DSES is also a partner with National Wounded Warrior.

The Benefit of Taking Skiing or Snowboarding Lessons

There are many benefits to taking skiing or snowboarding lessons.

  • Safety on the slopes:
Lessons help you stay safe on the slopes. Whether you’re skiing or snowboarding, you will have help from an experienced instructor who will teach you the basics and give you pointers. If you don’t take lessons and just try to ski or snowboard on your own, you may injure yourself or others on the slopes.
  • Foundational skills:
Lessons will help you develop the foundational skills you need to ski or snowboard safely on the slopes. If you continue to take lessons, you can progress further and move on to more difficult terrain.
  • Advanced skills:
For those who have experience skiing, lessons can help you get over that plateau and move on to more challenging slopes. With private instruction or even group instruction, you can work on new skills or improve problem areas that are holding you back.
  • A fun challenge:
If this is your first time hitting the slopes, lessons can present a fun challenge. Overcoming that challenge will give you a rewarding sense of accomplishment.
  • More confidence:
Even the smallest bunny slope may seem difficult at first, but after a few sessions with an instructor, you will feel more confident in your skills.
  • Physical conditioning:
Skiing and snowboarding are both challenging activities that get your body moving in new ways. You’ll burn calories, improve your flexibility, strengthen your lower body muscles and engage your core muscles.
