Experience the “Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot” in Mammoth Lakes

Start your Thanksgiving with some fun and fitness with the Annual Mammoth Lakes Turkey Trot. This two-mile run is a perfect way to get everyone up and out and about for Thanksgiving. Sponsored by the Mammoth Track Club, this two-hour event is a family event that everyone can enjoy. If you plan on visiting Mammoth Lakes, California, over the Thanksgiving holiday, consider making this annual Turkey Trot part of your holiday festivities.

Everyone is encouraged to wear a costume for added fun! Winners of the race will receive medals, and there will also be the opportunity to win raffle prizes.

More Races to Try in Mammoth

In addition to the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, there are a number of other Mammoth Lakes running races to try for fun and exercise all year long.

Crowley Lake Trail Run is a 5K/10K for both walkers and runners of all ages. This is a fundraising event with proceeds going to support the local community via workshops, classes and neighborhood improvements. This walk/run offers diverse terrain and beautiful scenic views for walking and running. Prizes will be awarded for the overall run as well as first and second place prizes for each 5k/10k age group winner.

Mammoth Half Marathon is the annual 5K high-altitude race that offers scenic views in the Mammoth Basin Lakes. Offered at the end of June, this race starts at the Mammoth Basin Lakes and then heads downhill on a paved bike path. This is a must-do running event for those that enjoy challenging races.

Footloose Freedom Mile is one of the most popular running events in Mammoth Lakes as it occurs before the Fourth of July parade. This is a one-mile, high-altitude race whose proceeds go to support the Disabled Sports of the Eastern Sierra and Mammoth Track Club.
